Rev. Forrest Parkinson
Co-Pastor, The Community Church of Little Neck

pastorfRev. Forrest Todd Parkinson is focused on the Sayings of Jesus. Embracing Jesus’ lessons involves the seeker in a spiritual experience. The Jesus Way is about a gathering to celebrate authentic spiritual experience.

As Co-Pastor, Forrest is the primary preacher and worship leader for the Community Church, he also ministers as a Pastoral Counselor at the Lutheran Counseling Center in Mineola and leads the Jesus Way Community. Forrest was active in the Methodist Church as a child and the Church of the Brethren as a teenager. In college, he embraced the Roman Catholic Church, attended seminary and was ordained a priest in 1994. He served as an associate pastor until 1999 when he left in good standing to train as a pastoral counselor. He holds an MSW from SUNY Stony Brook and the psychoanalytic certificate from the Blanton-Peale Graduate Institute. He continued training for two years in archetypal psychology at the CG Jung Institute, NY. Forrest holds New York State licenses in Social Work and Psychoanalysis. Forrest has ministerial standing in the United Church of Christ. He has served as the transitional pastor at the Wantagh Congregational Church and senior minister at the Community Church of East Williston. Active in ecumenical and interfaith work, Forrest serves on the Board of Governors of the Long Island Council of Churches.

Forrest is married to the Rev. Moira Ahearne and they have two children Andrew and Hannah, both college students. They live in Great Neck, enjoy good friends, movies and their pugs, Gracie and Betty… full of snorts and joy!

Pastor Moira Ahearne has served churches in the New York City area for the past 23 years. She is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, having graduated from the dual-degree program between Union Theological Seminary and the Columbia University School of Social Work. She serves on the Committee on Ministry and the Sexual Misconduct Care and Response Team of the Presbytery of New York City, and the Pastoral Care Committee of the Long Island Council of Churches.

Pastor Moira lives in Great Neck, Long Island, with her husband Forrest who is co-pastor of the Community Church of Little Neck, and a pastoral counselor at the Lutheran Counseling Center.  They have two children, Andrew, a college student, and Hannah, a senior in high school. Two pugs named Gracie and Betty and a cat named Bob complete the family!
